Grants Pass School District No. 7 is now accepting applications for the following position for the 2018-19 school year:

                                                        TRANSPORTATION

                                                            Supervisor

                                      8.0 Hours per day/260 Day Contract

OVERVIEW:

The position of Transportation Supervisor is to maintain the bus fleet and other district owned vehicles to peak efficiency with special emphasis on safety.  The position supervises the Transportation Department employees and establishes the bus routes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Recruit, screen, train, supervise and evaluate drivers, mechanics and other transportation department employees.
2. Establish bus routes, write and map thorough description, and designate stops, with primary consideration being safety of students.
3. Order transportation materials and supplies as needed, within the guidelines of district policy for purchasing.
4. Organize and supervise safety and in-service meetings.
5. Trains, teaches classes and tests new drivers.
6. Drives as a substitute driver on bus routes as needed.
7. In cooperation with the Business manager, prepare and administer the transportation budget.
8. Prepare necessary regular reports to business office regarding transportation department, and any special reports required by the administration.
9. Maintain time sheets for payroll.
10. Maintain personnel and other records required.
11. Coordinates field trips and sport trips, dispatching buses.
12. Accept other responsibilities for which he/she is qualified, by mutual agreement with his/her supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:   

1. Possession of a valid Oregon School Bus Drivers Certificate.
2. Certified Behind the Wheel Trainer.
3. Possession of Third Party Examiner Certificate from the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles.
4. Certified through the Department of Education/Pupil Transportation to instruct Core and Advanced courses and any additional required bus driver classes.
5. Must be trained to recognize drug and alcohol impairment so reasonable suspicion testing can be performed by State certified laboratory.
6. Must have a high school or GED certificate along with three years of supervision of truck or bus fleet recommended.

SALARY RANGE: $75,748-$102,342
