Grants Pass High School
Educational Assistant – Student Success Mentor
8 hours per day/181 day contract
JOB DUTIES:
- Daily student support with attendance, behavior, scheduling, and course performance
- Daily support of high school counselors
- Attendance phone calls and monitoring overall student attendance
- Routine review of data to measure student growth and achievement
- Clerical support
- Home visits, parent communication
- Coordination of support services
- Member of 9th Grade Student Success Meetings
- After School Student Support
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade and one of the following three options:
- Two years of college study.
- An associate’s or higher degree.
- A passing score on the District reading, writing and math assessment.
- Under the supervision of licensed staff, provide support to students through various mentoring activities.
- Be effective at building relationships with students and work collaboratively with families, teachers, and other adults and/or organizations to support students.
- Be flexible and have the ability to adapt to changing daily schedule while helping provide student support.
- Have strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Have strong organizational skills, ability to manage and track mentor roles and responsibilities.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Knowledge of and experience with computers and the student information system.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with fellow employees and ability to get along well with students.
- Cultivate and model a respectful working and learning environment.
- Bilingual and bi-literate in Spanish preferred.
STARTING SALARY RANGE: $12.80-$13.69 per hour
