Grants Pass School District No. 7 is now accepting applications for the following assistant supervisor position for the 2024-2025 school year: 

 
                       PERFORMING ARTS CENTER ASSISTANT SUPERVISOR 

                                              5/8 Position/25 hours per week 

                                                      Hours may be flexible 
                                                  12 Month (261 days per year) 

 

Assists with the supervision of the district’s Performing Arts Center including but not limited to: assisting with event scheduling; set up for events; operation and oversight of sound, facility stewardship, and equipment checkout and security.  

 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (may include any or all of the following): 

 

  • Assist with planning, organizing, scheduling and coordinating Performing Arts
    Center facility operations, events and performances, the use of technical and non-technical equipment, and design appropriate light, sound and stage equipment.
  • Work with staff in the Fine and Performing Arts department, PAC supervisor, and the principal on the scheduling of events and activities.
  • Assist with coordinating productions with internal/external event representatives to prepare facilities to meet their requirements.
  • Inspect and perform equipment and system maintenance and refurbishing as needed.
  • Assist with preparing the Performing Arts Center for performances, setting and focusing lights, setting up the sound system; programming the light to ensure proper focus and timing of lights.
  • Communicate with fine arts staff to coordinate productions, work with performers and performance groups, and other issues related to the performing arts center operations.
  • Assist with light and sound for productions.
  • May also assist with scheduling other events in District #7 at the high school and elementary schools.
  • Assist with room set up for internal/external facility requests of the performing arts center. 
  • Supervision of events as needed or assigned.
  • Operate lights and/or sound for PAC events as needed or assigned.
  • Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe and efficient manner and with minimal supervision. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Knowledge of department and Board policies, procedures, and practices with the ability to answer work related questions; and/or interpret and apply these guidelines correctly in various situations.
  • Knowledge of sound systems, mixing sound and light is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of techniques and methods of stage, light, and sound design, set up and preparation for theatrical or related performances.
  • Ability to design, operate, and maintain technical light and sound systems.
  • Knowledge of stage equipment, set construction and rigging.
  • Knowledge of computer-based cue systems and audio/visual media applications.
  • Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
  • Knowledge and use of proper lifting techniques.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and input into the technical operation of the performing arts center.
  • Ability to safely operate and maintain technical theatre tools and equipment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships
    with others.
  • Ability to prioritize and schedule work and multi-task.
  • Proficient computer skills. 
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service skills. 
  • Ability to solve issues and work with diverse populations, work with large crowds and young children. 
  • Ability to work or meet in the evenings and/or on weekends.
  • Bilingual and bi-literate in Spanish is preferred.

SALARY RANGE: $32,744-$44,240 commensurate on experience
