Grants Pass High School
District Library Media Specialist


Salary range: $44,882-$84,715

 

*A valid Oregon Teaching License with an Educational Media Endorsement

or ability to obtain an Educational Media Endorsement is required*

 

 

The District Library Media Specialist directs and coordinates the library/media programs and centers at the High School and oversees the programs at the elementary and middle schools as well. This work supports the district’s instructional programs and provides educational opportunities for students and staff. The specialist encourages library technicians to help students help build positive attitudes toward the use of communication, information, and ideas. The Media Specialist shares his/her enthusiasm and positive attitude about books, technology, and lifelong learning.

 

 

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Education required; Master’s Degree in Educational Media, Curriculum and Instruction, or equivalent preferred.
  2. Successful classroom teaching and library experience required; Library experience in a K-12 school setting or higher education levels preferred.
  3. Skilled with computer technology/applications required
  4. Ability to effectively work and communicate with students, parents and school personnel from diverse cultures or backgrounds.
  5. Familiarity with Oregon and national school library learning standards.
  6. Collaborates with others
  7. Bilingual and bi-literate in Spanish preferred.
